Folklore tells of a great turtle carrying the world on its back, reflecting the animal’s deep connection to the sea and the mysteries of life. Handcrafted by artisans in a Fair-Trade cooperative in Guatemala by a group of widows and young women who make beaded jewelry and other items. Profits support basic living supplies for elderly widows, education and medical expenses.
