In Medieval texts and art, the Stag is a symbol for Christ. It was thought the Stag is an enemy of the snake and the Stag is depicted in many religious illuminations and altarpieces. This handcrafted Stag is created by artists cooperatives in India from natural burlap and covered in antique Sari fragments. Each one is unique, so that colors and designs will vary slightly.
