The Lithopane (Vision in Stone) was conceived in France in 1827, when it was discovered that a remarkable three dimensional image could be produced by illuminating a carving of varied thickness of porcelain. Production of these works of art nearly vanished by the late 1800’s. This modern lamp is crafted using the original process to create this elegant lamp. Hand crafted in California. Metal frame with porcelain panels, standard lamp socket with switched line cord. LED lamp included. Size" 13 1/4" tall X 6" X 6"
