France Beginning in the 11th century, Venice was the glass-making capital of Europe. By the late 13th century - in order to protect the City from fire, glass-making was moved to the nearby island of Murano. Murano glass is to this day world-renowned for the quality of its craftsmanship and the beauty of it’s designs. Handcrafted by Jacques Herbin in France.
