In Korean culture, the Oriental magpie (까치, kkachi) is celebrated as a bird of great good fortune and prosperity, symbolizing happiness and a provider of positive developments. Children traditionally throw lost baby teeth onto rooftops while singing to the magpie, believing it will bring a new tooth in return. Each piece is carefully created from renewable basswood. The piece is then hand painted with added glass eyes.
