Larimar is a rare form of pectolite, which is only found in the Dominican Republic. Miguel Méndez and a Peace Corps volunteer rediscovered Larimar on a beach. Miguel took his young daughter's name Larissa and the Spanish word for sea (mar) and formed Larimar, by the colors of the water of the Caribbean Sea, where it was found. The reverse has a pink conch shell cabochon. Presented on an 18” sterling silver chain.
