Spherical gorara stone candleholder shows the stone craftsman’s skill. Agra artisans first cut the stone to size using a band saw. Then the surface design is carved, using a fine drill. Last comes the lattice work, cutting spaces for candlelight to shine through. Gorara stone is sometimes referred to as India soapstone. It is from the Hamirpur and Mahoba areas of Uttar Pradesh and comes in a variety of mottled colors. Gorara soapstone - Natural soapstone will vary in color - Dual-purpose! Use as a candle holder or incense holder by placing incense cones on the interior or sliding incense sticks through the carved designs in the globe. - Holds one tea light, not included - 4Dx4H inches - Made in India
