Hand cast pewter and hand painted enamel hinged box.
The Statue of Liberty was designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdia and was a gift from the people of France. Dedicated on October 28, 1886, the tablet held by Lady Liberty is almost 24’ tall and is inscribed with the date of July 4th, 1776. This beautiful box is hand crafted from cast pewter and then gold plated. The enamel is applied and it is then fired in a kiln to create the glass-like finish. Hand set lead crystal jewels accent the work of art. 4" Tall.
