American Victorian 1880’s This remarkable ornament was handcrafted in a Victorian household in the 1880’s. Ladies magazines of the day included directions for ornament making. To create the ornaments, they would embellish the die cuts with wire tinsel, spun glass, colored cellophane, crepe paper and sometimes cotton batting. This cotton Santa is an excellent example, with a chromolithograph Santa, Dresden stars and tinsel on a field of cotton batting. A beautifully preserved example that is very rare today. 9" Tall X 3 1/2" wide.
