Cast Iron The joy of reading is a gift for life. It is thought that The Diamond Sutra - a Buddhist book from China was the first printed book created around 868 A.D. during the Tang Dynasty. The book was printed with a method known as block printing, which utilized panels of hand-carved wood blocks in reverse. This thoughtful sculpture is crafted from cast iron using the ancient technique of sand-casting.
