In Celtic myth, bees were believed to bring good luck and was regarded as a symbol of great wisdom and was also thought to carry secret knowledge. The pineapple traditionally symbolizes "welcome" and hospitality, it conveys friendship, generosity and comfort. Crafted from cast pewter, Imperial court jeweler Carl Fabergé and his craftsmen made similar boxes for royalty. This beautiful butterfly box is crafted from gold plated pewter which is finished with high-fired enamel and accented with Austrian lead crystal. 2 3/4" X 1 1/2"
