The house of Fabergé created exquisite jewelry and decorative arts for the Russian Imperial Court. This Necklace is reproduced from a decorative element adorning a large rock crystal egg presented to the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna by Nicholas II in 1909. The egg contains a replica of the Standart yacht, perhaps in commemoration of the ship’s sinking when the Empress, saving children and maids first, was the last to leave the ship. Gold over sterling, freshwater pearls and enamel. Made in USA. 18” long.
