Enamel/Pewter The Giraffe is the common name for Giraffa camelopardalis, or camel-leopard, which the Romans called this spotted “camel” when it inhabited North Africa. This necklace is cast from pewter and then gold plated. The vibrant enamels are applied and the pendant is fired in a kiln, creating a glass-like finish.
