Enamel/Pewter The Giraffe is the common name for Giraffa camelopardalis, or camel-leopard, which the Romans called this spotted “camel” when it inhabited North Africa. This box is cast from pewter and then gold plated. The vibrant enamels are applied and the box is fired in a kiln, creating a glass-like finish. It is then set with Austrian lead crystal jewels. Beautifully crafted in the style of the famous Russian Imperial court jeweler, Carl Fabergé. Box dimensions: 5.1"
