Hand cast Pewter and hand painted enamel hinged top box The Basset is a scent hound that was originally bred for the purpose of hunting hare. Their sense of smell and ability to ground-scent is second only to the Bloodhound. The box is cast from pewter and then gold plated. The rich enamels are applied and the box is fired in a kiln, creating a glass-like finish. The box is then accented with Austrian lead crystal jewels. 1 3/4"T X 2 1/4" L
