Crystalline Glaze Vase

Crystalline Glaze Vase

Crystalline Glaze Vase

Handcrafted by Paul Lorber - New Jersey
Crystalline glaze is a special material in which crystals actually grow inside the glaze while it is still very hot. The crystals start out as microscopic spots in the glaze, called "seeds." The glaze is first fired to about 2500 F to thoroughly melt all of the ingredients. It is then cooled to the crystal-growing temperature, (about 2100 F) where the crystals start growing on the seeds. This beautiful pottery is handcrafted from white porcelain clay by New Jersey studio artist Paul Lorber . Artist signed. 7" H.
