Neolia Cole (1927-2016) Sanford, NC This charming blue splatter-ware earthenware soup bowl was created by Sanford, NC potter Neolia Cole, from the legendary Cole pottery family who have been producing pottery for more than 300 years dating back to 17th century England. Her father was A.R. Cole and her siblings Celia and brother Foister Cole. She would write on the bottom of her pieces to make them more personal. This one is inscribed: “Love Neolia Cole 1-5-87 Sanford, N.C. “Time for a bowl of soup” With Cole pottery stamp. A wonderful example of her work. 5 1/2" Diameter 2 1/2" Tall 7" long with handle.
