Cole (1892-1974) who set up his shop in Sanford N.C. in 1934 after moving his business from Seagrove, N.C. He was one of the prominent members of the Cole family of North Carolina potters. He turned pottery for his father's A. R. Cole Pottery Shop of Sanford, North Carolina for many years, creating some of the most artistic pieces from that shop. He later moved to South Carolina for a few years, w he continued to produce pottery, and then returned to Sanford, NC where he established a pottery on Cox Mill Road. His pottery consistently demonstrates the skill, craftsmanship, and artistry of a master.
