Sales price: $2,000.00
Description A beautifully drafted graphite on paper drawing of St. Peter Thomas, circa 1920. 22k gold Abe Munn museum frame. This was the final proposal presentation drawing used when proposing a new window design. Emil Frei Art Glass, St. Louis, Missouri. Emil Frei Associates, a century-old stained glass studio founded in 1900 by Emil Frei (1869 - 1942), who emigrated from Bavaria to settle in Saint Louis, Missouri. In the early part of the twentieth century Frei was one of the more notable designers of stained glass windows with workshops in Munich as well as St. Louis. In 1904 he won the Grand Prize at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition for his work. Originally called "Emil Frei Art Glass," it remains a family business to this day; the Frei studio is one of the very last family run glass studios remaining in this country. Some of their most beautiful work can be seen in the exquisite windows of St. Anthony's Church in the West End of Atlanta.
